Welcome Adventurers! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Sharpen your blades and ready your wits, Adventurers, because Week 10 in RavenQuest (May 19thโ€“26th) was an absolute killer! The long-awaited Guild War overhaul finally deployed with Patch 1.0.8, radically changing the face of your weekly large-scale PvP. Meanwhile, your very own RavenQuest.tools unleashed a barrage of new features, including the interactive map and database pages! Add in some massive community-hosted events, ongoing economic tuning, and critical insights from the Guild Roundtable, and you've got a week for the history books. Let's dive into the crucible!

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ RavenQuest.tools Updates

This has been a MONUMENTAL week for your allies at RavenQuest.tools! We're thrilled to announce a salvo of new features and celebrate a massive community milestone:

๐Ÿš€ NEW FEATURES NOW LIVE! After much anticipation and diligent work (even amidst some IRL challenges for our team members โ€“ your patience has been amazing!), we've pushed a major update:

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Interactive Map - Phase 1 LIVE!

Our interactive map is now live! While still a work-in-progress with more data being added continuously, you can currently track several dynamic events, mark them as completed, and even use a periodic completion tracker for those dedicated event grinders.

๐Ÿ“š Database Pages

We've synced over 2,400 items into our new database pages! This is crucial groundwork for upcoming features like Guild Tools and the Build Planner. While many items are still missing images or precise data from RavenQuest (we're working on it!), you can use these pages to mass-update custom prices or reference item details.

๐Ÿ’ฐ $QUEST Price Conversion Integrated!

You can now toggle prices between Silver and $QUEST across materials and within the Tradepack Calculator! See different value perspectives instantly. FIAT (USD initially) conversion is coming very soon. This $QUEST price is community-updated with safeguards in place.

โšก Ingredients Custom Prices

No more extra clicks! Simply type a number into the custom price field for an ingredient, and it automatically saves. A huge thank you to CodeRad and others for this suggestion!

๐Ÿ“ˆ Tradepack Calculator - Formula Updated (Twice!) & V2 Planning!

Initial Update: We updated the formula to match recent in-game changes.

Reversion & Refinement: After realizing the new formula was initially off, we temporarily reverted. Then, after much testing, number crunching, and "bothering the RQ team a lot" (their words, not ours! ๐Ÿ˜‰), we pushed another update!

  • What's New: Tradepack value now incrementally decreases if you sell more than one (based on our team's guesstimate). Global Demand has been fully removed from the calculation, as per clarification from the RQ team that it doesn't impact the price.
  • What's Next (V2 Planning!): We're already looking ahead to a more advanced Tradepack Calculator V2. If you're a veteran Tradepack Runner, hit us up in our Discord (โ โœใƒปfeedback) with your ideas! We might host a stage/VC chat to gather more insights.

๐ŸŽ‰ Over 200,000 Tradepack Calculations!

ICYMI from last week's announcement: Our Tradepack Calculator has surpassed TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND uses! This is an incredible testament to your engagement and the tool's utility. Thank you!

Analytics graph for RavenQuest.tools showing continued high user activity.
Still celebrating incredible community engagement! Over 200k Tradepack Calculations and counting. The new Interactive Map & Database are just the start of what's next!

This update was pushed a little prematurely to get these tools in your hands, so if you encounter any bugs, please let us know in our Discord (โ โœใƒปfeedback). Our next major focus? Locking in and delivering those Guild Tools!

๐Ÿ“œ RavenQuest Game Updates

The main event this week was the deployment of Patch 1.0.8 on Tuesday, May 20th (originally planned for the 19th but shifted due to the size of previous patches). This patch was packed, bringing the highly anticipated Guild War overhaul and a host of other significant changes and fixes.

This is the update competitive guilds have been waiting for, completely reshaping large-scale PvP:

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Introducing Warbands

Guilds can now field multiple customizable 10-player teams (Warbands) in Guild Wars, dramatically increasing participation. Each guild gets one Warband slot free, with up to 19 more purchasable via Silver. Give your Warbands unique names and icons!

๐ŸŽฏ Strategic Bidding & MMR

Warbands are bid on individually. A new dynamic Matchmaking Rating (MMR) system ensures fairer, skill-based matchups. Defeating stronger teams or winning decisively boosts your MMR faster! If no suitable opponent is found based on MMR, the bid is refunded.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Revamped Rewards & Fame Scaling

Only participating Warband members now receive rewards. Fame rewards are significantly increased, especially for high-performing Warbands, and now scale with MMR (top MMR guilds can see up to 3x rewards!).

๐Ÿ’ธ Guild War Bidding Changes

Increasing an existing bid now requires a minimum of 200,000 Silver. Top 30 AP/DP bonuses also apply. The impact: Over 600 players and 60+ Warbands clashed in the inaugural battles! The MMR system has begun its calibration.

๐Ÿ” Augmenting Stone Refunds

Patch 1.0.8 initially introduced the ability to refund 80% of Silver and Augmenting Stones from gear. However, after issues arose, this feature was temporarily pulled for reassessment. Retroactive fixes were implemented to prevent item trade exploits related to it.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Tradepack Formula Adjusted (Official Change)

The formula for Tradepack value was officially changed from 33k + (Distance * 14.4) to 35k + (Distance * 8.5). This aims to balance profits from high-distance routes and revitalize older, shorter routes.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Patch 1.0.9 Delivers QoL & Munk Utility!

A follow-up patch brought more improvements:

  • ๐Ÿ‘‘ Munk PFPs Now Boost Renown Multipliers! A new utility for your Munk NFTs.
  • ๐ŸŒŸ Lifetime Patron Status for ALL Landowners! A significant perk automatically granted.
  • ๐Ÿšถ Mobile Munk Added: More convenience on the go.
  • Numerous bugfixes and layout adjustments were also included.

For every single detail and the complete nitty-gritty, make sure to read the official [Update 1.0.8 Patch Notes]!

๐Ÿ› Other Bugfix & Clarifications

๐Ÿฆ„ Moa Breeding: Tier-up chance depends on breeder level, passives, and potions. UI improvements are coming to display odds and requirements more clearly. (This was also clarified last week but reiterated in the digest). "Raised By" info is now retained on web transfers.

๐Ÿƒ Veiled Cards: Still temporarily disabled (since May 14th) for a rework of the drop rate and reward system. Top rarity cards won't be part of this system's drops.

๐ŸŽฃ Dynamic Fishing Event: Remains temporarily disabled due to an issue with it closing properly.

  • Visual stat issues resolved via relog.
  • Fixes underway for market errors, UI resets, and fallout from recent DDoS/connection issues.

๐ŸŒ ECONOMY & $QUEST ECOSYSTEM

๐Ÿ“ˆ Primed Tradepacks Continue to Surge: Demand for Primed Tradepack Certificates remains high following the 1.0.7.1 overhaul. The system is expected to stabilize over the next 1-2 weeks.

๐Ÿ“‰ Silver Economy Tweaks Ongoing: With increased Silver output from various Tradepack system changes, the dev team is actively working on adjustments to restore long-term balance to the overall Silver economy.

๐Ÿง  Renown Boosts & Vision for 1.1.0: Beyond the Munk PFP Renown bonus, even greater impact for Renown is teased for the upcoming Patch 1.1.0. The $QUEST <> Silver/Primed Certificate exchange is also getting an overhaul in 1.1.0 for instant swaps via an in-game liquidity pool.

๐Ÿš€ Patch 1.1.0 Hype Intensifies โ€“ A "Mini-Expansion"!

Patch 1.1.0 is now being dubbed RavenQuestโ€™s first โ€œmini-expansion.โ€

  • It's set to coincide with the Epic Games launch, promising a massive influx of new players.
  • Confirmed content includes: New Archetypes (Naturalist, Ballistic), 4 new weapon types (dual pistols, blunderbuss, more magical weapons), PvP leagues, an evolution of $QUEST utility, and much more.
  • No firm release date yet, but an AMA, trailer, and "show-and-tell" video series are coming soon.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ COMMUNITY & CULTURE

๐ŸŽจ Design Your Archetype Contest โ€“ Submissions Closed!

The community has spoken (and designed)! Submissions for the Archetype Contest closed on May 17th. Winners and the potential next playable class will be chosen soon.

๐ŸŽฏ Ongoing Security Enhancements:

The game, website, and Discord were hit with coordinated DDoS ransom attacks. Swift action was taken, with information passed to relevant authorities (Discord, PayPal, OVH, FBI IC3). SEA/NA server stability continues to be monitored and patched.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Fame & Rewards Distribution:

Guild War Fame distribution was delayed due to backend issues but a fix is underway to ensure proper payout before the next cycle.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Guild Roundtable Recap (Ep. 6)

Our 6th Guilds Roundtable, and the first ever hosted directly in the Official RavenQuest Discord Stage, was a lively affair! We welcomed guild leaders and representatives: Vetronix, Mr.h0use, BunnMeow, Xanatos, Kiszer, and Schawkey alongside our RavenQuest.tools team members Jyrmz and FoolishSend. The discussion centered on the brand-new Guild War system, the economic impact of recent patches, and broader insights into Web3 game development. Here were the discussion points and quotes:

Guild Wars Reforged โ€“ First Impressions of Warbands & MMR: โš”๏ธ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Positive Reception for 10-Player Format: Generally, the shift to 10-player Warbands was well-received. Bunny (OSG) noted, "We were one of the smaller guilds and didn't participate much prior... we had a full 10 players [this time]... I'm looking forward to seeing the future of it." Vetronix stated, "Do you feel like it's more inclusive now with the change of 10? Yes, definitely."

MMR Needs Time: Universal understanding that the new MMR system will take a few weeks (2-5, by various estimates) to properly calibrate and provide truly balanced matches. Xanatos: "The MMR is going to take probably a couple of weeks to even out. So we actually get opponents that are kind of equal in our skills and also levels."

Strategic Shifts: The 10v10 format changes team composition. Xanatos: "With 10 players instead of 15, you can't really utilize AoE as good as you did with 15 players, so the single targeting is going to be much more popular." Jyrmz also noted cleaner comms.

Cost of Scaling Warbands: Vetronix (GG) pointed out the significant Silver cost increase for guilds fielding many Warbands: "everything after six is 20 [million Silver] and then goes up to 50."

Patch Impact โ€“ Fishing vs. Tradepacking & Rift Balance: ๐ŸŽฃโš–๏ธ

Tradepack Nerfs Felt: Vetronix observed, "I think I got way less money from my tradepacks [after 1.0.8 adjustments]." Mr. House added, "It's really not worth it for me to run trade packs unless I'm running them primed... it's really kind of forced you to put more thought into how you want to go about earning silver." However, he also saw a positive: "it also adds levels of balance to the game... and it forces you to get out of your box and explore different parts of the world."

Rift Balance (1.0.8 Skill Tweaks): Kiszer generally favored small, iterative changes over drastic nerfs, believing players often "locked themselves in a box" by only copying meta builds.

New Archetypes (Ballistics & Naturalist Hype!), Weapons & Future Content: ๐Ÿš€

New Archetype Excitement: High anticipation for Ballistics and Naturalist in 1.1.0. Xanatos wondered how Ballistics would compete with Archery, with Jyrmz suggesting synergy: "I think you'll see a lot of warfare, ballistics, archery people running around." Mr. House shared his fun experience co-designing a "Blood Mage" concept for the Archetype contest with Foolish.

Need for More Endgame & Diverse Content: Vetronix strongly advocated for more action and content: "We need to see the changes we hear about. We need to see more action... healers... need content around healing other players... you need those open world bosses, possibly 3v3 arena." He also suggested a Test Server for community feedback on upcoming features, a point that resonated.

Community Event Ideas: Kiszer mentioned a community-led sea battle tournament being organized by GXE and TN, highlighting a desire for more diverse event types, including ocean-based Guild Wars. Mr. House loved the idea of organized sea combat. Schawkey suggested a target dummy/custom match feature for build testing. Xanatos proposed gathering-specific gear/trophies. Bunny wished for an Adventurer's Board update to make it less repetitive.

$QUEST Token Economics & Web3 Gaming Challenges (From Previous Roundtable, Echoed Here): ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿค”

The conversation about the challenges of Web3 game development, avoiding past mistakes (like Axie Infinity's SLP, as mentioned by Sinful in a previous context if he was there), and the difficulty of balancing Web2 fun with Web3 incentives continues to be a core undercurrent.

Overall Roundtable Sentiment: A mix of excitement for new systems like Warbands, anticipation for 1.1.0's "mini-expansion" content, and a pragmatic understanding of the iterative nature of game balance and Web3 economics. There's a strong desire for more diverse endgame content and a continued appreciation for the dev team's willingness to listen, even if a "Wild West" feeling still pervades the broader Web3 gaming space. The move to the official RQ Discord for the Roundtable was seen as a positive step for community engagement.

โœ… Conclusion

Week 10 was a landmark period for RavenQuest, defined by the transformative launch of Patch 1.0.8 and the Guild War revamp. The introduction of Warbands and MMR promises a more dynamic, inclusive, and strategically rich future for guild-based PvP. Alongside this, RavenQuest.tools proudly unleashed our Interactive Map and Database pages, empowering the community with new resources, and celebrated over 200,000 Tradepack Calculations!

While some features like Augment Refunds saw a quick iteration (temporarily disabled for rework), and systems like Veiled Cards are paused for fine-tuning, the overall momentum is undeniably forward. The community is buzzing with activity, from high-stakes tournaments hosted by players like Botrex and 64World to creative contests like the Archetype design challenge.

The developers continue to navigate the complexities of Silver economy balancing and are clearly gearing up for the massive Patch 1.1.0 "mini-expansion," which, coupled with the Epic Games launch, is set to usher in a new era for RavenQuest. The active dialogue in the Guild Roundtables underscores a community deeply invested and eager to contribute to the game's bright future. The path ahead is paved with anticipation! ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

See you next week, Adventurers! ๐Ÿ‘‹
