๐ RavenQuest Game Updates
The RavenQuest team was busy this week, dropping patches, tweaking systems, and hosting events!
๐ Patch 1.0.6 Highlights!
This major patch landed with core improvements and new ways to play:
- ๐ Ocean Trophies: Hunt fearsome sea monsters (Orcas, Squids!) for new housing trophies granting powerful combat, fishing, and drop rate bonuses. High-risk, high-reward!
- ๐ง Legacy Skill Resets: Level 76+? Visit Aeva in Ravencrest Slums for a Temporal Hourglass โณ to reset your Legacy Skill! Test new builds, but the Silver cost rises each time.
- ๐ฟ Herbalism Balanced: Planting recipes/levels adjusted for better progression. A costly bug was fixed, making herbs cheaper to plant! (5 related Tradepacks temporarily locked for market balance).
- โญ Smoother Leveling (Lvl 20+): New Tier 2 gear chests from the North Star Questline (retroactive!) help ease players into mid-game challenges.
- ๐ฃ Fishing Ship Buffs: Ocean fish are tougher, but dedicated Fishing Ships now pack a bigger punch with hull bonuses buffed up to 70%! Specialization pays off.
- โณ Longer Disconnect Grace: You now have 5 minutes (was 2) to reconnect after a crash, saving more tradepacks from unfair loss. Phew!

๐งฟ Patch 1.0.7 Teased & Split!
Originally planned for this week, Patch 1.0.7 (featuring the mysterious Veiled Cards ๐ด) is now confirmed for next week and will release in two parts to minimize mid-cycle economic disruption:
- Thursday: Core systems update.
- Friday: Merchant Influence adjustments.
A video reveal for Veiled Cards is promised soon! ๐
๐ Economy & System Tweaks:
Plunder Channel Fees: Entry fees now scale more gradually with level, removing the retroactive recalculation and the extra Death Debt penalty for Level 76+ players. Fair seas ahead! โต
Bug Fixes (May 1st): Issues with Fairy Light System materials, Ocean Trophy activation, and several Emote Wheel quirks (saving, previews, scroll bar, removal) have been squashed! ๐
๐ช Community & Culture
GamesCom LATAM: The RQ team represented RavenQuest at the massive gaming event, complete with swag and alpha teasers!
- ๐คซ Mr. Speaks-a-Lot Goes Silent: For once, Knighter kept major feature leaks under wraps due to ecosystem sensitivity!
- โ๏ธ RavenCard QoL: Multi-deposit for NFTs is being tested to ease shard farming. Fixes for SEA desync and walk-stuck bugs are also underway.
- ๐ฆ Gorilla vs 100 Men: The media team settled the age-old debate... with a video. Feast your eyes:
๐ฐ Lucky Chest Leaderboard Locked! The dice have rolled their last '1' (May 4th, 5:10 PM EST). The leaderboard is frozen, ending May 7th at 3:00 PM EST. Congrats to the winners!
- ๐ Top 1 (Kingmaker Moa): Fhmremy
- ๐ Top 1-10 (Kingmaker Ships): Fhmremy, Nobita, Webthreesineat, Unorthodox, Klasu, Krayer, Kyazh, McIz, Apeofwallst, Jyrmz
- ๐๏ธ Top 50 (Kingmaker Wagons): Secured! These cosmetics are now legacy items!
๐ Community Game Nights!
The community spirit was STRONG this week with two awesome events:
Monday Hide & Seek: Hosted by zEmerson, HeyAfro, & WelshTG, players hunted down streamers on Sajecho Island for a 1000 $QUEST prize pool! Our own FoolishSend from RavenQuest.tools helped guard and facilitate. Fun times! ๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ๐ฐ
May the 4th Race: Obi Welsh & JarJar Bunny joined forces with Guards and RavenQuest.tools very own FoolishSend leading a Star Wars-themed race across RavenQuest! Darth Knighter "poisoned" Bunny's Moa, and adventurers raced (no teleports!) between checkpoints, trading for items to prove their journey, all for sweet rewards. Congrats to the winners! ๐โโ๏ธ๐
๐ฌ Guild Roundtable Recap
This week's Guild Roundtable was a deep dive into the philosophy and future of RavenQuest, featuring candid insights from guild representatives (@mr.house, @Bunny, @Along, @CustomeTV, @Luuu90, @FaolinW and briefly @WT7791), our own @Jyrmz, and of course, CEO Sir-talks-alot @Knighter & CMO Mr. Moneybags @Welsh. Here are the key discussions, powered by direct quotes from the session:
๐ฅ Guild Wars Balancing
The need for balanced Guild Wars was a hot topic, directly addressing experiences like WT's: "We went against a bunch of 70s, their lowest guy was like 65, and we just got steamrolled. We tried, we gathered what information we could."
- ๐ MMR System is Key: Knighter emphasized the goal of the incoming MMR system: "We don't want guilds being like, 'oh, we can't even participate because we don't really have enough members'. The MMR system helps make fights more balanced, so even if you're lower levels, it's nice when you're at least the same numbers on each side." This system aims to be live for the next Guild War.๐ฏ
- ๐ค 10v10 Accessibility Proposal: The potential shift to 10v10 teams was framed around inclusion. Knighter stated: "We want everyone to be able to participate in this part of the game. Obviously, dropping it to 10 doesn't fully solve that, but it makes it a lot more accessible."
๐ฐ Economy & Game Philosophy
The discussion went beyond simple Silver generation, touching on the core design philosophy.
- โ๏ธ Varied Gameplay: Knighter stressed avoiding repetitive grinds: "We want to make sure that there should be multiple parts of the game that you want to do, not just that Diablo loop or Poe loop of just grinding mobs all day... Grinding creatures is for trophies, experience, cosmetic items - to make sure they all kind of have a clear role."
- ๐ Patch 1.0.7 Economic Impact: Knighter gave specific alpha on the upcoming patch's scope: "Patch 1.0.7 is actually significantly bigger... We're adding prioritized ather rift pings, the veil card system... and making significant changes to merchant influence pools and landowner pools."
- ๐ฑ Sustainable Ecosystem: The long-term vision focuses on sustainability. Knighter explained, "We took a very different approach... we just want our token to be like an ecosystem token around all the games we do," aiming to "build a foundation that is sustainable... rather than applying band-aids every 30 days." Lou added a crucial element for token health: "As long as there's always incentives for people to keep on spending and burning the tokens, I think we're in a good spot."
๐ฎ Web3 Culture
A strong theme emerged: building a game with Web3 elements, not just a financial instrument.
- โค๏ธ Culture Over Incentives: Along articulated this powerfully: "Web3 is good at bringing incentives, but I feel like we've been lacking culture. Here's where a really fun game like RavenQuest can bring a better culture in the web three space together. It doesn't always have to be about money."
- ๐ฐ Meaningful Guild Systems: CustomeTV contrasted RQ with other games: "In most games, especially in the web3 ecosphere, a guild is nothing more than the tag... here, we have a lot of stuff for the community to do together as a guild, and compete against other guilds built right into the game."
- ๐น๏ธ Gamer Focus & Web2 Roots: Knighter highlighted their audience strategy: "really trying to focus more on gaming creators and advertising to gamers, as opposed to web3 audiences." CustomeTV pointed out a key advantage: "The reason you guys have a good opportunity is because you developed Raven Dawn first as a web2 game, then converted to web3..."
๐ ๏ธ RavenQuest.tools
Upcoming features for RQ.tools were detailed, directly addressing player needs.
- Feature Roadmap: Along gave a comprehensive overview: "We have an interactive map where you'll be able to track your quests, dynamic events, see timers, mark them as complete. We're adding guild management tools, database pages for materials and equipment, and a quest calculator that will help you calculate silver to quest conversions and dollar values."
- Welcome New Contributors: We officially welcomed mr.h0use & Nova to the RavenQuest.tools team! ๐
โค๏ธ Community Is Core
The importance of the player base was consistently emphasized.
- Driving Force: CustomeTV shared why his guild chose RQ: "We were really looking for a game that did have that open world, MMO RPG feel with guild things to do, PvP, quest nights... it's really great for community."
- Feedback Loop: Jyrmz summed it up: "We really can't do this without the community surrounding the game. We appreciate you guys being here... If you have feedback, ideas, comments, concerns - please let us know."
The conversation also touched upon Raven Idol as a project appealing to a different demographic but potentially adding value to existing collections, and welcomed new guilds like 'The Fam', showcasing the game's growing reach. It was a clear signal that development is active, responsive, and focused on both immediate improvements and long-term health.
This Roundtable showcased a team deeply engaged with its community, tackling complex balancing acts, and building RavenQuest with a long-term, player-focused vision.

The community showed up big for Game Nights, and the Roundtable sparked crucial conversations about the game's direction. ๐
Looking ahead, all eyes are on Patch 1.0.7 and the mysterious Veiled Cards ๐งฟ. The Lucky Chest era closes soon, solidifying the legacy of its winners. The economy remains a dynamic beast, and player feedback is clearly important to the RavenQuest team!
